Clinical trials

The European Union Clinical Trials Register   allows you to search for protocol and results information on:
  • interventional clinical trials that were approved in the European Union (EU)/European Economic Area (EEA) under the Clinical Trials Directive 2001/20/EC
  • clinical trials conducted outside the EU/EEA that are linked to European paediatric-medicine development

  • EU/EEA interventional clinical trials approved under or transitioned to the Clinical Trial Regulation 536/2014 are publicly accessible through the
    Clinical Trials Information System (CTIS).

The EU Clinical Trials Register currently displays   43865   clinical trials with a EudraCT protocol, of which   7286   are clinical trials conducted with subjects less than 18 years old.   The register also displays information on   18700   older paediatric trials (in scope of Article 45 of the Paediatric Regulation (EC) No 1901/2006).

Phase 1 trials conducted solely on adults and that are not part of an agreed paediatric investigation plan (PIP) are not publicly available (see Frequently Asked Questions ).

Examples: Cancer AND drug name. Pneumonia AND sponsor name.

    MedDRA Classification
E.1.3Condition being studied is a rare disease No
    E.2 Objective of the trial
    E.2.1Main objective of the trial
The primary objective is to determine whether oral beta-blockade compared to no oral beta-blockade, and whether ACEI/ARB compared to no ACEI/ARB, reduce the composite endpoint of deathof death of any cause and readmission because of AMI, ischemic stroke or heart failure in patients discharged with myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary artery disease (MINOCA) and with no clinical signs of heart failure and with LV systolic ejection fraction ≥40%.
    E.2.2Secondary objectives of the trial
To determine whether oral beta-blockade compared to no oral beta-blockade, and, and whether ACEI/ARB compared to no ACEI/ARB, in patients with MINOCA and with no clinical signs of heart failure and with LV systolic ejection fraction ≥40% reduce:
    • All-cause mortality
    • Cardiovascular mortality
    • Readmission because of AMI
    • Readmission because of ischemic stroke
    • Readmission because of heart failure
    • Readmission because of unstable angina pectoris
    • Readmission because of atrial fibrillation.
    • Mortalidad cardiovascular
    • Reingreso por infarto
    • Reingreso por accidente cerebrovascular isquémico
    • Reingreso por insuficiencia cardíaca
    • Reingreso por angina de pecho inestable
    • Reingreso por fibrilación auricular.

After the study is closed (after a mean follow-up of 4 years is reached), the primary investigator at each participating centre will notify the patients. The patients will be recommended to continue with their randomized treatment until next ordinary visit to their physician and at that visit discuss the future treatment. Then, the decision whether the patient should continue with, or change the medication is left to the discretion of the treating physician.
